Our first experience as a church on the Navajo Reservation was in the summer of 2007. Since then three additional mission teams have been sent from our church. Maple Springs has partnered with the Four Corners Native American Ministries of the United Methodist Church to offer Vacation Bible School to hundreds of children, repair homes, and provide clean and safe drinking water to a small but active church on the reservation. Each time we have gone to serve we were blessed in ways that words cannot express.
Update:
In July, 2011, we spent 8 days in Shiprock, New Mexico. Our mission team worked on a ramp for a disabled individual; helped to refurbished the building at First United Methodist Church in Shiprock; and worked on a new bathroom for a deserving family. For anyone interested in going to serve the Navajo people please contact Jeremy Pegram.
